10/08/2008 - Florida National Tournament - 2008 Dennis jumped his top end fastball five mph since we last saw him, up from 81 to 86. His breaking ball jumped four mph on the top end as well, up from 68 to 72. He is athletic and long framed, and showed good arm speed. His fastball had some life, and he showed good feel for the zone and made good adjustments. Can work on repeating his arm stroke, and needs to work to utilize the slope of the mound to drive the ball downhill. Has room to add strength on his long and projectable frame, and his arm speed and already impressive velocity jumps indicate potential for further development of his stuff. At the plate, he hit the ball where it was pitched and showed power potential. In the outfield, he showed a strong and accurate arm along with a quick first step. Overall, has some two-way potential at the college level.

09/07/2008 - College PREP - Indianapolis, IN Adam is a RHP with an above average body that does show projection as it continues to physically mature. Arm strength is slightly average and he needs to get on a strict long toss program to aid in building more arm strength and raise velocities. Fastball shows some arm side run. Breaking ball is solid average displaying a 11/5 shape with loose spin. Changeup is also solid average showing a decent feel with run and sinking action. Changeup showed flashes of being a quality pitch. His best off speed pitch is a fork ball that is above average with late sinking action. Delivery is consistent with solid mechanics and tempo. He does fall off to the 1B side causing his arm to drag at times. Adam has potential abilities with a lot of room to improve.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
