04/27/2008 - College PREP - Farmingdale, NY Alan is a very impressive looking athlete with solid tools behind and at the plate. He has very good arm strength with an above average exchange as well. His throws are on line and only lack carry when he occasionally buries his front shoulder. Pop times are well above average and consistent. With the bat, Alan is strong with some bat speed. As he learns to get his foot down earlier, he is going to really drive the ball consistently. Power and barrel accuracy are already very good. Alan is a solid catching prospect.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
