07/29/2008 - Under Armour Southwest Regional Tournament - 2008 Antilety projects best as a pitcher at the present time. He showed some good movement with his fastball (79-82) and improved break with his curve (66-69).He has the ability to get downhill and improve the pitch plane along with better break on his curve if he stays closed and over his back leg longer. Defensively he has some work to do. He is aggressive on groundballs with decent glove work around the bag at first. He needs to get better with his feet to work through grounders. He also must improve his glove extension to soften his hand hands. Antilety must really focus on his mechanics at the plate. His swing is long which can improve by making better use of his lower half and taking the wrap out of his load. His stride is heavy which shifts his weight early and forces his lower half to break down. He does show some pull power and would benefit by being more aggressive.

04/27/2008 - College PREP - Farmingdale, NY Alex is a tall, broad-shouldered RHP with some upside. His delivery has balance and direction and his eyes stay still. The ball gets out of his hand with some life, his breaking ball is tight, and he has some run on the changeup. Location needs to improve and will as he learns how to use his front side more effectively and stay back over his back side longer. Breaking ball is his best pitch right now.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
