06/14/2019 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (Ages 14-18) Alexander is a tall and lanky 2022 catching prospect. Behind the dish, Alexander presents a big target and tries to work behind the ball. He still needs to be in a more athletic position and get his target down in the zone. He needs to improve his overall flexibility to be more athletic behind the plate. He also needs to continue to gain ground on his throws and rotate his backside when throwing to improve accuracy. At the plate, Alexander starts in a tall and open stance. He gets his hands back on time and battles during every AB. He looks for the ball over the middle part of the plate, he stays compact throughout the swing, and hits the ball gap to gap consistently. Alexander is a tough player and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
