08/30/2008 - ACR-E - Maryland - 9 Anthony improved to a class 4 rating after this event. Had a faster 60-time and improved his arm grade. In the OF, was aggressive to all balls with good athletic actions. Took appropriate angles and showed ability to play thru ball because his hands and feet worked well together. Throws were accurate with decent carry. Carry will improve when he gets to proper throwing position and raising arm angle to eliminate arm side run. At the plate, had proper set-up and generated decent bat speed with ability to use all fields. Flashed good pop when he centered ball. Would like to see him keep hands inside ball consistently so he doesn't come around ball and cut off swing.

05/18/2008 - College PREP - Baltimore, MD Anthony is a smaller player but he has strength and athleticism. In the OF, Anthony has range and he transfers the ball quickly. He must get his lower half involved in the throw, but he gets behind the ball and can play through it. At 2B, Anthony has soft hands and moves laterally well. He turns the double play well but as in the OF, he must learn to stay low while throwing to get his lower half involved. At the plate, Anthony has bat speed and rhythm. He hits line drives and has some pop to the pull side. He must learn to rotate his hips before contact to increase power potential. With some fine tuning, Anthony can play at the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
