11/09/2008 - College PREP - Miami Shores, FL Ben is a young strong player. Behind the plate, Ben shows a strong accurate arm as his pop times indicate. He gets down quickly when blocking balls in the dirt and he receives the ball well. He is an above average defender. At the plate, Ben shows a level swing and bat speed. He must learn to create some sort of launch or load in order to create some momentum towards the ball. With increased hitting work, his overall grades should improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
