07/29/2008 - Under Armour Southwest Regional Tournament - 2008 Herrmann again showed consistency in his game. He has above average arm strength as well as athleticism. His footwork has improved as has his 60 time (6.90). He still has some rough spots to hammer out with his routes and angles but he makes good adjustments and is a serviceable outfielder. Herrmann flashed improved power at the plate that we had not seen in the past. He used the entire field and made contact almost every time up. He showed both pull and gap power over the weekend. His stance tends to be a bit narrow for his frame and his bat path can be uphill at times but that will improve with his strength. He still projects best in center field.

07/19/2007 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Brad is a young player, 2009 graduate that showed outstanding defensive ability in the outfield. He showed good routes and angles in getting behind routine balls and plays through with his feet creating momentum towards target. He gets great jumps on balls and has well above average range. He displayed good foot work to throw but does need to further develop arm strength through a strict long toss program. He also displayed well above average ability at the plate. His swing path is level and does a nice job of keeping hands inside the baseball utilizing the entire field. If his overall body strength, foot speed and arm strength is improved his class rating will rise in a hurry. He still has time to further develop.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
