06/29/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Brandon continues to show a promising future on the diamond. At 3B, he has plus lateral range, working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws zipping across the diamond. At the plate - he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He takes an absolute hack - crushing the ball to the deep parts of the park (exit velocity = 87 mph). Brandon has the tool that will play at a very high level and make an immediate impact.

09/19/2015 - 2015 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures East Dorsey generated the strength in his stroke from the rotation of his core, and was aggressive through the zone with bat speed to impact the ball with authority. As we've seen from him in the past, he made several good passes in his game at bats — on both fastballs and off speed stuff, offering proof of his ability to see & react to pitches and then put good swings on them. Defensively, he reacted well with his hands and showed an idea of creating angles on balls at him and to his glove side. He spun his throws across the infield well, and showed ability to shorten up for double play feed and to make the off balance slow roller throw as well.

01/16/2015 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Dorsey is proving time in and time out why he is an elite player in the 2017 class. Offensively, his late bat whip carried over from the fall, as he displayed plus pull side pop with strength at contact to all fields. At third, he got to a good fielding position on-time to promote his hands in front. His glove worked sure and he threw with carry and flashes of life. Overall - Brandon is a physically mature sophomore that we look forward to tracking this spring.

09/20/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Showcase: Futures East Dorsey has shown some signs of physical maturity, at 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds the makeup of his body has changed. He has a very well rounded set of tools, and gets a lot from his ability thanks to a natural feel for the game. His hands are soft and sure at 3B, and he does a great job of keeping his feet underneath him. His actions are easy and calm, giving him a chance to be a steady and consistent defender. At the plate, his move is very easy yet very quick to contact. He works the barrel thru the zone with ease, getting to full extension out front. He drives the ball easily with wood, but still his stroke lends itself more towards hitting ability than it does raw power. He has barrel accuracy and an advanced feel for hitting. Overall, a top player in the 2017 class thanks to a combination of physical ability and instinctual feel for the game.

07/11/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Team One South Brandon continues to impress on the diamond. This strong RHH has an aggressive approach as he is looking to swing the stick right when he steps into the box. He doesn't get cheated, connects and drives the barrel to and through the ball. At 3B, Brandon works light on his feet, presents his glove, and gathers well. Exchange is quick as he gets rid of the ball across the diamond quickly. Only a 2017 grad - Dorsey projects well and has a very bright future in the game.

01/17/2014 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Brandon is a talented 3B that can really swing the bat. At the plate he showcased a lot of power during BP and games. He hit several home runs during BP and backed that up in the game with a home run and a couple extra base hits. He has an aggressive approach at the plate and makes consistent hard contact. Brandon displays all the tools to be a middle of the order hitter at the next level. In the infield he has a quick first step and excellent range. His hands are soft and displays above average footwork playing through the ball. Arm strength is strong with good carry across the diamond. Overall, Brandon is a impact player and will be a prospect that should continue to get quite a bit of attention in the years to come.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
