07/14/2008 - College PREP - Cedar Hill (DFW), TX Brandon is a 3B with an outstanding athletic looking body. Foot speed is average but he displays active feet in coming to get the baseball with his feet. Glove presentation is sure, solid, presenting down and out in front of his body. He does funnel at times allowing the baseball to get deep in on his body, dictating play. Arm strength is above average displaying life and carry across the diamond. At the plate, Mason has above average ability displaying plus bat speed. He does a nice job of keeping hands through the baseball at contact. Swing path is level taking hands directly to the ball. He has strength in his swing showing well above average power to all fields. Brandon will catch the eyes of the college coaches with his abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
