01/11/2008 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America - 2008 Brooks is a tall strong player with an imposing presence on the mound. Although he can also play the OF with solid mechanics and a strong arm, he is more suited for the mound at this time. FB's are in the mid to upper 80's and he has an above average CB with tight spin and a sharp break. Stays direct to target with balance. Can utilize lower half a little more to get more power and consistency, but with size, he can still throw downhill. Swing is quick with some pop to the pull side. Stays inside the ball nicely with balance. Brooks' potential can increase with a long toss program.

12/27/2006 - Christmas Camp and Tournament - 2006 As a pitcher, Brooks has a good body, good arm actions, and plus stuff for an '09 grad. Demonstrated he has an idea of how to pitch and has poise on the mound. At the plate, Oursler showed that hitting is his strength. He has good bat speed and pop off of his barrel. He is a strong boy and gets the maximum out of his body.

06/16/2005 - National Team Tryout - South Florida PM Gained 25 lbs, improved hitting/power, velocity up on FB/CB/CH.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
