12/27/2008 - Christmas Camp and Tournament - 2008 Weiss showed good life in his swing. Though he tended to stride a bit open, he was able to get good extension and did a good job of staying level with his hips and shoulders through the hitting zone. He showed some gap power along with good strike zone knowledge. Defensively, he showed good anticipation along with good hands and solid range. Can work to improve his agility and infield footwork, along with his arm action.

07/14/2008 - College PREP - Cedar Hill (DFW), TX Caleb is a 3B with a big, athletic looking body. Foot speed is average. He does need to utilize his feet more in coming to get the baseball. Glove action is low to high but does get deep at times allowing the baseball to get deep in on his body, dictating play. Arm strength is average from a low ' slot. He needs to work to stay on top of the baseball to create carry across the diamond. At the plate, Weiss shows solid average ability with near above average power. His is a contact hitter with best power coming to the pull side due to long swing path. Caleb has potential with a lot of room to improve.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
