05/18/2008 - College PREP - Baltimore, MD Charles is a smaller player but he has a lot of athleticism. In the OF, Charles shows range and the ability to play through the ball. He has proper arm action and a decent transfer. He has a good idea of what he's doing in the field. At the plate, Charles has pop to the pull side and solid contact. He gets his bat through the zone but he needs to let the ball travel in order to hit it to all fields. He typically pulls the ball. With some work on his offensive game, he can increase his ability.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
