06/08/2008 - College PREP - Dublin (Columbus), OH Chase is an athletic looking infielder with potential at the next level. In the field, chase has a strong arm and soft hands. He turns the double play well and he takes good angles to the ball. Everything works in the infield despite some slow feet. At the plate, Chase has a balanced swing and he makes solid contact. He needs to work on extending the bat through contact to create more backspin and carry behind the ball. He has some pop to the pull side. With work on the offensive side, Chase can increase his overall rating.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
