Defensively: Cruz possesses plus range and an athletic feel in both the outfield and infield, making him a reliable defender at multiple positions. His strong arm, clocked at 54 mph, provides excellent carry on his throws, making him effective both in the outfield and at third base. Scouts noted Cruz’s high baseball IQ, recognizing him as a trusted defender who consistently makes smart decisions on the field.
