01/16/2009 - Under Armour Pre-Season All America - 2009 Damon is a strong looking catcher. Behind the plate, Damon has good footwork on throws to 2B. He can develop a long toss program to help increase arm strength, but he gets down quickly when blocking balls in the dirt. He frames the pitch well and working on throws to 2B will help increase defensive grade. At the plate, Damon has good extension with some pull side pop. He starts his swing late and over rotates, but he has a line drive approach. Damon is still young and has plenty of time to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
