06/30/2008 - College PREP - Buffalo, NY Dan is a left handed pitcher with a solid delivery. He gets to a balance position with solid direction and approach to the plate with his body. Arm action is loose and easy. He throws a two and four seam fastball. A strict long toss program will aid in further developing more arm strength and increase velocities. Change up is his best off speed pitch showing near above average. He shows a good feel for the pitch and displays arm side run. Breaking ball is below average and needs some work. Command is average with his fastball and change up. Dan has some potential on the mound with a lot of room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
