10/26/2008 - College PREP - Stockton, CA Daniel is an athletically built infielder. At SS, Daniel shows a quick first step with a low approach. He get to the ball well and transfers it nicely. He probably is suited more for 2B in the future, but he has an idea of how to play the infield at the next level. At the plate, Daniel has a short bat path and he uses his lower half well. He stays inside the ball and has some pull side power. Daniel is a solid all around player with potential at the next level.

06/19/2008 - Omaha Pro Select Training and Tournament - 2008 Spaizman ran 7.16 in the 60-yard dash, very near the 7.14 we saw him run in December 2007. He proved to be a good athlete with solid ability all around. At the plate, he showed good bat speed and gap power. His approach was good, mostly thanks to good balance. Can work to track the ball deeper into the hitting zone, which will help him use the opposite field better and to better adjust to off speed pitches. In the infield, he showed smooth actions along with a strong arm. He can work to refine his skills further, and already has a solid foundation to build upon for the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
