05/25/2008 - National Tryout - Nashville, TN Daryl shows an outstanding strong, athletic looking body. He displays a lot of pro potential in his baseball tools and should be a possible draft guy in 2010. He shows as a two way player on the mound and at 1B and does project well at both. On the mound, his fastball is superior showing solid run, topping out at 92 mph. Breaking ball and change up are near superior showing a lot of pro potential with superior command of all his pitches. Arm action is long, loose and easy. He continues to show off his pro arm strength across the diamond. Fielding ability is near above average. At the plate, Norris continues to show off his pro potential. Bat speed is quick and direct to the baseball creating a strong compact swing. He shows a lot of strength in his swing displaying pro power potential. The best thing about Norris is that he still has two years to further develop, only a 2010 graduate. He will catch the eyes of a lot of pro scouts and shows as a solid prospect.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
