07/06/2015 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition Ethan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a solid runner at 7.38. At the plate is where he has improved the most through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a short / direct swing path. He works to stay inside the ball and shows plus barrel accuracy, displaying gap to gap pop. At SS, he moves well laterally, displaying range. He attacks balls with hands / feet working well together through the fielding process. Throws are accurate with carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. Ethan has the makings of a special type player as he continues to improve.

03/22/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Brentwood (Long Island), NY Ethan is a R/R SS who has a projectable build (5'10"/170). Defensively, he works hard around the GB and into a square fielding position. He has a clean exchange and makes accurate throws across the diamond. With the bat, Ethan displays a square setup with a solid base. He works back into a loaded position and waits for his pitch. Swing path is level as he connects and drives the ball back up the middle of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
