07/28/2008 - College PREP - Council Bluffs (Omaha), IA Ethan is a smaller player but he shows athletic ability. At SS, Ethan has soft hands and he makes good double play feeds. He is probably more suited for 2B at this time, but he has range and quickness. A long toss program is needed to increase arm strength. At the plate, Ethan shows a line drive approach. He can drive the ball where it is pitched, but he must use his lower half in the swing to increase power. With work on the offensive side, Ethan can increase his overall rating.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
