07/14/2008 - College PREP - Cedar Hill (DFW), TX Evan is a 2B with solid average power, especially for a small body. He shows a feel for the barrel and flashes some bat speed. Swing path is level and he does a nice job of keeping the barrel through the baseball at the point of contact. He shows near above average abilities at the plate. Arm strength is near average and needs to get on a strict long toss program to further develop. Fielding actions are solid average displaying good glove presentation down and out in front of his body. Foot work is solid but he does need to increase foot speed to play in the middle at the next level. Evan has potential with a lot of room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
