05/18/2008 - College PREP - Baltimore, MD Evan is a tall player with good build. At 1B, Evan has good footwork and soft hands. He plays through the ball and made some great plays on picks in the dirt. He rushes his hands during double plays and he must learn to relax but he has potential. At the plate, Evan has bat speed and good barrel contact. He is loose with balance and some pull side power but his swing is a little long. Keeping his front arm and elbow bent during the swing will help to shorten the bat path.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
