10/13/2019 - College PREP - Romeoville (Chicago), IL Frankie is an athletic C/OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.12. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a quick transfer / exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.10 range with accuracy and zip (85 mph velocity) on his throws. He tracks balls well and sticks balls in the zone through a soft glove action. He utilizes his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. In the OF, feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, he shows as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel. With 2 years to further develop, Frankie has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
