08/04/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Ivan showed as a SS and on the mound for the first time at the event but currently projects better at SS for the next level where he has improved his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a well above average runner at 7.10. Defensive grade in the MIF are now outstanding as he displays smooth / athletic actions. He takes good first steps and is fluid in his approach and displays range to both sides. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process as he shows big play potential. At the plate, hitting grades are now outstanding with well above average power potential. Hands are quick, generating plus bat speed and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with baseball exploding off the bat when centered. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 78-80 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will improve as he builds more arm strength, throws more strikes, and develops better off speed stuff. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and has the work ethic to take skill set to the next level. Ivan has 5 plus tools that will play well at the next level and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his abilities.

04/27/2014 - College PREP - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Ivan is a lean, young 2B that will graduate in 2015. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.31 60 time. Feet are active as he moves well laterally and works to square balls up, displaying soft / clean hands. Defensive grades will continue to improve as he attacks balls, plays through, and present hands more out front. Throws are accurate, flashing carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a balanced / squared approach and he tracks the ball well. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path and works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Hitting grades will continue to improve, as he learns to get stride foot down sooner to work on time. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more with transfer through the swing. Ivan has abilities with a lot of room to improve.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
