08/31/2008 - College PREP - Oklahoma City, OK J.T. is a young 2B with a small body. Defensive abilities are solid average presenting his glove action down and out in the center of his body. Glove action is soft, sure, and solid in making all the plays. He does need to play through the baseball more with his feet to create momentum to his target. Foot speed is near average and needs to be improved to play in the middle at the next level. Arm strength is below average and he needs to get on a strict long toss program to build more arm strength. At the plate, Lynn has solid average ability and power. He does a nice job of keeping hands inside and through the baseball, utilizing all fields. He utilizes his lower half well through a balanced approach. Bat speed will increase if he loosens his grip. J.T. has potential and with 2 years to further develop could develop into a solid second baseman.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
