08/01/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Myrtle Beach, SC Jacob is a talented 1B/RHP with a bright future on the diamond. At first base, he demonstrates smooth and fluid actions, with proper footwork around the bag and strong receiving skills. His hands are clean and present well out front, and he moves laterally with ease, with his range expected to improve as he enhances his foot quickness. At the plate, Jacob continues to excel with a squared setup and quick hands that drive a level swing path. He makes consistent contact using a line drive approach, with his power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, his fastball ranges from 63-65 mph, and his stock is expected to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and develops his off-speed pitches. With time and room to grow, Jacob has significant potential to advance his game further.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
