01/16/2009 - Under Armour Pre-Season All America - 2009 Jake has fluid, athletic actions in the outfield. Throws downhill and works through cutoff men effectively, and takes a confident, aggressive approach to and through the ball on the ground. At the plate, he is strong with good batspeed. He stays on the plane for a long time and has a line drive approach. He can continue to improve his lower half rotation. Had 2 hits in 6 at bats at this event.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
