07/08/2008 - College PREP - Apple Valley, MN Jared is a tall pitcher with potential at the next level. On the mound, Jared has a balanced delivery with a loose arm. He works quickly and he is directional to the target. He has a feel for his off speed pitches despite falling off the mound during the release. He keeps the ball down in the zone. Everything works on the mound. At the plate, Jared has bat speed and barrel accuracy. He gets uphill with his swing, but he has power to the pull side and he uses his lower half well. He has a nice shot in the right program if he can increase his arm strength.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
