07/08/2008 - College PREP - Apple Valley, MN Jaron is a young lefty with potential on the mound. His mechanics are sound with balance and tempo. He has a loose live arm and a feel for his off speed pitches. Everything works well on the mound but he must develop a long toss program and a strength and conditioning workout to increase arm strength and overall body strength. His mechanics are on the polished side and, with work, he has a chance at the next level. At the plate, Jaron has a good bat path but he is more suited for the mound. He locks out his back side and he is in and out of the zone too quickly.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
