11/10/2016 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Jason is a lean, athletic OF who will graduate in 2018. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.22. In the OF, he reads balls well off the bat and utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. He works behind the baseball and plays through with momentum to his target and gets rid of the baseball quickly. Range is a plus as he covers a lot of ground. At the plate he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best he can be. With 2 years to further develop, Jason has abilities with time and room to progress.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
