07/28/2008 - College PREP - Council Bluffs (Omaha), IA Jesse is an athletically built player. Although he also pitches with a good feel for his CH and a balanced delivery, he is more suited for the infield at this time. In the field, Jesse has soft hands and an on-line accurate throw. He turns the double play well, but he needs to play through the ball to increase momentum to the target. He is an above average defender. At the plate, Jesse has a quick level swing with power to the gaps. He stays balanced and he has bat speed. Letting the ball travel more and hitting it where it is pitched will help increase hitting ability. Overall, Jesse has potential at the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
