10/12/2008 - College PREP - Baltimore, MD Joe is a C with the makings to be a top notch player an outstanding body that is suited for the position. His body shows projection as it continues to physically mature. Arm strength is well above average as indicated by his low pop time of 1.97. His throws have carry and accuracy into his target with outstanding foot work in getting into a strong position to throw. Pop times will continue to drop as he gets on a strict long toss program to aid in developing more arm strength. Receiving skills are solid as he shows a firm glove action that works well around the baseball. Blocking skills are near above average as he shows off his athletic ability in getting his body down and around the baseball; deadening all balls in front. At the plate is where El-Bisi shines the most. Hitting abilities are near superior with outstanding power. Bat speed is a plus and he keeps hands inside the baseball, utilizing all fields. He shows a solid feel for the barrel through a level swing path to all fields. Lower half works well in transferring weight from backside into a firm front. He has strength is his swing as the baseball jumps off his bat. Joe will catch the eyes of all the collegiate coaches and could develop into a draft guy over the next year. If in need of a power hitting catcher, El-Bisi may be the guy.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
