01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament John played well defensively and offensively at his most recent Baseball Factory outing. At short, he worked under control to make plays with good rhythm and had sure hands to field. He had good feel for the position and threw with a good arm stroke across the diamond. Offensively, he delivered the barrel on a direct path and made consistent line-drive contact. He worked in the middle of the diamond with his approach and rotated his core to help accelerate through the zone. In all - John is a young ball player that has a high ceiling as he continues to fill out physically.

07/29/2015 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One John is a lean 2B that will grade in 2017 with a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 7.32 60 time. In the MIF, feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. He moves well laterally, displaying range and soft / sure hands. Throws display life, accuracy, and on line carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with baseball exploding off his bat, mainly to the pull side. With 2 years to further develop, John has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
