07/14/2008 - College PREP - Cedar Hill (DFW), TX Jordan is a catcher with a solid athletic looking body. Arm strength is average and he needs to get on a strict long toss program to aid in further development. Pop times are above average due to a quick exchange and transfer. Hands and feet work well through the catch and through process. Receiving and blocking skills are slightly average. He shows a lot of body sway in his body in receiving skills but does work mitt around the baseball. Blocking skills will improve quickly as he learns to get his body down quicker, getting around the baseball. At the plate, Corn shows average ability through a level swing path. Power is limited to pull side due to long swing path. Hitting grades will improve quickly with instruction and work on his approach and mechanics. Jordan will catch the eyes of college coaches with his ability to catch and throw behind the plate.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
