08/04/2008 - College PREP - Cleveland, OH Jordan is SS with an athletic looking body. He shows average ability defensively in the middle of the infield. He shows some awkward actions but does make all the plays. Arm strength is average but does show a quick release with accuracy. He needs to get on a strict long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength. At the plate, Rider shows near average ability and average power. Swing path is level and does show a feel for the barrel. He does need some instruction and work on mechanical flaws to improve hitting grades. Jordan has ability with a lot of room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
