07/28/2008 - College PREP - Council Bluffs (Omaha), IA Joe is a smaller player but he is athletic. At SS, Joe has good arm action and a low approach. He turns the double play well and he has soft hands. He needs to work on fielding the ball out in front instead of deep under the body. At the plate, Joe has some pop to the pull side and the ability to stay inside the ball. He must better utilize his lower half in the swing to increase his power production. Joe has some talent and ability and needs to fine tune his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
