11/10/2016 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Kai is a young 3B who will graduate in 2019. At the event he displayed a great attitude and work ethic and was a very coachable player. In the field, Kai has active feet and is very agile covering ground. He gets into a low position to field and presents his hands out front to field the ball. He has a clean exchange to throw with a short arm action from a 3/4 angle. He gains momentum well to his target which allows his throws to remain accurate an on-line. Kai can improve defensively by being more fluid when fielding balls to his backhand side. At the plate, Kai sets up in a crouched stance and takes a square stride to the ball. He is smooth getting back into his load and finishes with a firm front side in his lower half. He takes a short swing path to the ball which leads to square contact and line drives to all fields. Kai can improve as a hitter by staying back on the ball longer. Overall, Kai is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further develop his skills.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
