12/27/2008 - Christmas Camp and Tournament - 2008 Dolega improved his 60-yard dash slightly, down from 7.70 to 7.69. On the mound, he threw his fastball between 74 and 77. His breaking ball showed signs of tight spin and action, and his change had some deception when his arm speed was up. His delivery was balanced and his pitching mechanics were solid for the most part over two mound outings. At the plate, he showed some hand speed and ability to hit the ball hard to the pull side. Needs to work to avoid diving into the plate with his stride, will allow for better barrel accuracy and lower body action. Made several good plays defensively at first base, and showed improved arm strength there as well.

08/24/2008 - College PREP - Farmingdale, NY Keith is a RHP with a tall frame that shows projection as it continues to physically fill out. Arm strength is near average and he must get on a strict long toss program to aid in developing more arm strength. Fastball shows on an uphill plane and he needs to utilize his tall frame to work on a strong downhill plane. Change up is his best off speed pitch showing a solid feel for with late sinking action. Breaking ball displays a 11/5 shape with tight spin and good depth. Delivery is solid displaying good balance, separation and direction to the plate. Arm action is long and loose but does need to work on a consistent release point. Keith has abilities with a lot of room to improve.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
