05/11/2008 - College PREP - Olympia, WA Kevin is an athletic player in the infield. At SS, Kevin takes good angles to the ball and has soft hands. He makes all the plays. He displays proper footwork on turning the double play and his throws have accuracy. He needs to work on a quicker first step to the ball, but he is a solid defender. At the plate, Kevin has a good bat path and uses the lower half well. He has the ability to keep his hands inside the ball. He tends to drift a little but he is a sound hitter. As he gets stronger, his hitting should increase.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
