08/31/2008 - College PREP - Oklahoma City, OK Kyle is a young 2B with a solid average body. Glove action is soft and solid, presenting down and out. His feet are active but do need to come get the baseball, playing through with his feet and hands. Arm strength is near average and shows some stiffness in his arm action. He does need to get on a strict long toss program to aid in developing more arm strength. Foot speed is near average and needs to be quickened through an agility / foot speed program to play in the middle at the next level. At the plate, Williams has slightly average ability and power. He stays balanced through the swing and throws his hips. He does have some flaws in his approach and hitting grades will improve quickly with instruction and adjustments at the plate. Kyle has abilities with room and time to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
