01/13/2012 - 2012 Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament Lucas showed well both offensively and defensively during his time at the Pre-Season. At the plate, Lucas has good balance, bat speed, and he is short to the ball. He has a level swing, he can work the ball gap to gap, and he gets his backside through well. In the OF, Lucas has sure hands, active feet, and he tracks the ball off the bat well. He fields ground balls on the glove side, gains momentum toward his target, and he throws with a long / loose arm with accuracy to his target.

09/25/2011 - College PREP - New Orleans, LA Lucas is a solid, athletic OF that will graduate in 2012. Foot speed is superior as indicated by his 6.75 60 time. Feet are quick and aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls as he works to get behind to play through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally, displaying range in the OF as he covers ground. Throws are accurate showing life and on-line carry to his target. Offensively, Leger continues to shine through an athletic setup with rhythm. Hands are quick, generating plus bat speed through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows plus barrel accuracy with the baseball exploding off his bat when centered. Power is best to the pull side as swing path gets long at times. He will hit and hit with power at the next level. Lucas has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his athletic abilities.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
