09/04/2016 - College PREP - San Francisco, CA Makoa is a small, but very athletic second base prospect with good strength for his size. He presently shows above average power, putting on a show in BP, with projection for more as he grows and fills out. He is aggressive in the box, looking to jump on the first pitch he likes with a very quick bat through the point of contact. He generates good power with his lower half after loading to a power position. At second, this prospect gets ready pre pitch and is in good position to field with a low position and soft hands. He has extended range and makes quick DP turns with fast hands and a clean exchange. Working on agility drills will increase his foot speed and even increase his range and the plays he can make. Makoa is a very exciting prospect who looks to be a player at the next level and we are looking forward to watching his progression.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
