10/08/2008 - Florida National Tournament - 2008 Williams setup well at the plate, and showed a level path through the zone. Can work to improve extension through contact, tended to cut his swing off out front. Can also work to build his offensive approach more to suit his speed, bunting and putting the ball in play more would be ideal. Defensively, he showed well in the outfield - has ability to play all three outfield spots. Can work to improve arm strength along with feel for positioning. Overall, a good combination of intangibles and athleticism.

07/14/2008 - College PREP - Cedar Hill (DFW), TX Nathaniel is a 3B with a solid average body suited for the position. Foot speed is above average and he utilizes his feet well in move laterally. He does need to come get routine ground balls more with his feet, currently sits back. Glove action is deep allowing the baseball to get deep in on his body, dictating play. Arm strength is average and accurate. He needs to get on a strict long toss program to further aid in the development of more arm strength. At the plate is where Williams shows best with solid average ability and power. He displays quick hand with plus bat speed. The baseball jumps off his bat when centered. He does have some flaws in his approach and mechanics and if corrected, hitting grades will rise in a hurry. Nathaniel has ability with a lot of room to improve.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
