07/28/2008 - College PREP - Miami Shores, FL Nicholas is an athletic looking player. At 2B, he shows soft hands and quick turns during the double play. He moves laterally well, but he must build his arm strength through a long toss program or strength and conditioning. He also fields the ball deep under his body, but he is accurate with all throws. At the plate, Nicholas has bat speed and he centers the ball well. He remains balanced throughout the swing but his lower half must get more involved to increase hitting grades. With greater improvement on the defensive side, his overall rating should improve.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
