12/27/2008 - Christmas Camp and Tournament - 2008 Anderson lowered his 60-yard dash from 7.35 to 6.97, certainly a notable improvement. His defensive footwork was fluid, while his overall actions and arm strength were solid. At the plate, he showed a loose swing with quickness and strength in his hands and wrists. He made solid contact for the most part, thanks to good feel for the barrel. On the mound, he pitched from a high three quarters angle and topped at 79. He was around the zone with his fastball and curve, and was able to move the ball in and out a bit. His delivery was solid, but he tended to cut his arm stroke off out front and instead pushed the ball a bit. Has a long, athletic and wiry frame with potential for further physical development. Is more interesting as a position player at this point.

07/16/2008 - College PREP - Santa Barbara, CA Parker has outstanding all around upside due to his tall, lean, athletic frame. In the field, he has a decent approach to lateral ground balls as he takes good angles around the ball. He possesses soft hands, with feel for his backhand. He shows good feet, but is generally raw with footwork, especially turning double plays. He will need to learn to play through the ball more aggressively, and to incorporate his lower body into his throws. He shows some accuracy on throws, and will benefit from a long toss program. At the plate Parker shows a good approach as he uses all fields. He has a good base and fires his hips well. He has good hands and bat speed, but will benefit from implementing a more level stroke, as he tends to swing uphill. Parker shows gap, to fence power and will benefit by loading earlier, and implementing more weight transfer in his load and through his swing. Overall, he is very raw and coach-able. Coaches will love developing his skills as he may grow into a promising college third baseman.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
