06/05/2016 - College PREP - Bakersfield, CA Hooks is an athletic R/R MIF who can pick it. Defensively, he shows quick/active footwork and moves fluidly around the GB from right to left. He funnels smoothly, has a clean transfer and fires accurate throws with zip across the diamond. Offensively, this righty displays an athletic/balanced setup with rhythm to load. Hands are quick as he whips the barrel through the zone with authority. He squares the ball up consistently and drives it on a line. Quentin is a projectable RHH SS who will make things happen as he approaches his senior year.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
