01/31/2010 - College PREP - San Diego, CA Ryan is a strong, athletic, OF with very good skills and will graduate in 2010. He has a strong arm, good arm action, and good footwork. Ryan gets a good 1st step on the baseball, catches it on the proper side of his body, and has a quick transfer from glove to hand. He then delivers the ball with an accurate, over the top arm, that has life and carry to his target. Offensively, Ryan has good balance, bat speed, and barrel accuracy. He has a proper load, he attacks the baseball, and he stays inside it well. Ryan uses his hips well, shows signs of raw power, and can hit the ball to all fields. Overall, Ryan is an athletic OF with good skills and a bright College future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
