02/23/2014 - College PREP - Dayton, OH Sam is a R/R 3B who has some pop at the plate. With the stick, he shows a balanced approach with good rhythm. He gets back into a loaded position, swings on a level path and drives the ball on a line making hard contact. Creating extension through the zone will help power numbers to rise. Defensively, he is aggressive and works into a square fielding position. He is sure-handed, making the plays to his right and left. Playing through the ball toward his target will help to improve defensive abilities. A 6'2"/190lbs corner infielder - Sam will have success thanks to his abilities at the plate.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
