05/18/2008 - College PREP - San Antonio, TX Scott is a tall pitcher with potential at the next level. On the mound, Scott shows an athletic delivery and a good feel for his off speed pitches. He is directional to the target and has some movement on his FB. He needs to stay a little looser with his arm and he lands heavily at times. This causes some balance issues and decreases power potential. At the plate, Scott has bat speed and quickness. He has a level swing and extends the bat well through the zone. Contact is inconsistent at the present time. Scott's future is on the mound and with work and a long toss program, he can play at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
