08/31/2008 - College PREP - Nashville, TN Sean has really improved since the last time that we saw him. Hitting abilities and raw power have improved the most, now showing at above average. Bat speed is quick and he does a nice job of keeping hands insides and through the baseball, utilizing all fields. He shows a solid feel for the barrel with the baseball jumping off his bat. He has improved his arm strength and foot speed but does need to stay on a long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength. Sean will catch the eyes of the college coaches with his abilities at and behind the plate.

05/27/2007 - College PREP - Nashville, TN 5/27/2007- SCR / TENNESSEE - Sean shows above average ability behind the plate. He showed the ability to receive the baseball with good glove action. He does a nice job of working the mitt around the baseball presenting a good view for the umpire. His blocking skills are his best. He gets his body down quick and covers balls with his body. He will be able to catch and throw from behind the plate if he develops more arm strength through a strict long toss program. His transfer is efficient and does a nice job with his footwork in the throwing process. At the plate, Sean shows good quick hands and the ability to find the barrel. He currently is a line drive type hitter that will utilize the whole field. He has a lot of projection in his body and will be fun to watch over the next year.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
